This is the closest swimming area to the capital of Saint-Paul, a 5-minute drive from Saint-Gilles, and 40 km from Roland Garros airport.
It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Reunion; it is appreciated for its waves and its fishy bottoms, its stretches of white sand, and its waters with turquoise and navy blue colors.
The lack of a coral reef gives the bathing area a greater depth than in a lagoon. The bottom is covered with rocks and corals, attracting many fish to discover fins, masks, and snorkel (PMT), in calm sea.
The Range Includes:
- Shark safety nets (removed in strong swells)
- A bathing area: located in front of the monitoring station, reserved for swimming and supervised by the Lifeguards every day.
- A natural swimming pool on the right, formed by volcanic rocks, which may be of interest to the smaller ones.
Be careful, in swell weather, a strong current is formed on the left of the bath area.
Snack bars, restaurants, souvenir shops, an art gallery, and several accommodations are located all along the beach or in the immediate vicinity of the beach.
