Discover the wildlife of Réunion Island by spending a morning at the Zoo Parc de l'île de la Réunion. This zoo is dedicated to the discovery of wildlife through a wide range of educational activities. The site is a new leisure and educational centre designed to raise public awareness of the need to protect local biodiversity and its environment.
You can have lunch at the Restaurant L'été Indien in Etang Salé, next to the beach, and then take the Route des Tamarins towards Saint-Leu for the Parc Kélonia.
Kélonia is a sea turtle observatory located on Réunion Island. Its purpose is to raise awareness among the general public and schoolchildren of the natural and cultural heritage associated with marine turtles and also to develop research and conservation programmes for marine turtles.
The observatory is an aquarium, a museum and a place for meetings and discussions, with numerous conferences.
Once the visit is over in the afternoon, you can relax and enjoy the hotel Les Aigrettes and its swimming pool. You will then spend the night there.
Finally, the next day you will head to the Aquarium de Saint-Gilles-les-Bains, located in the town's harbour, to discover Réunion's many marine species.
The Aquarium de La Réunion is a private aquarium located on an artificial islet in the centre of the marina at Saint-Gilles-les-Bains, a seaside resort in the west of Réunion Island. Opened in 2000, the aquarium takes visitors on a journey that begins with the fauna of the lagoon and ends with the fauna of the drop-offs.
