Pat'Jaune is a group of musicians giving a cabaret show around a good meal. They called "Petits Blancs des Hauts" or Youl, or "Pat'Jaune", the inhabitants of the highlands of Reunion Island. This last Creole expression comes from the coloring of farmers' feet after their work in saffron fields (turmeric).
With a lot of humor and poetry, the Pat'Jaune quartet depicts the anecdotes of everyday life in the Hauts de l'île, on polka tunes with Cajun, quadrille, mazurka, and acoustic segregation accents. With the sound of the banjo, guitar, mandolin, violin, and double bass, the audience lets themselves embark on an exotic temporal journey.
The group Pat'Jaune gives its performances in its cabaret of the Plaine des Cafres in front of fifty guests and throughout the island of Reunion; it often flies away for tours in France; it is also known in Mauritius, Rodrigues, Hong Kong, Switzerland, and the United States-Unis.
In 2003, Pat'Jaune was awarded the title of «Best Musical Group of the Year» and «Best Reunion Album for 2002» (Ti Catoune Album) by a jury composed of professionals from the Show and the local Press.
Authentic show, the cabaret of Pat'Jaune is a unique opportunity to appreciate the Creole art of living, literally and figuratively! Laughter is guaranteed for young and old!
