Perched high above the clouds at 3,071 metres, the Piton des Neiges offers breathtaking views of Réunion and the Indian Ocean.
Climbing the Piton des Neiges is not like any other hike.
The approach walk begins in the shade of the forest. The slope gradually becomes steeper. The vegetation becomes sparser, the tall trees giving way to shrubs. Volcanic rock outcrops everywhere. You'll also find a gîte along the way, where you can rest and continue the rest of the route in good spirits.
